Dear Sir,
I followed the instructions to register, got the confirmation link and logged in apparently properly, yet I do not see the "download" link as described in the instruction.
Digging over the forum I have found another link but the target page announced that it either doesn't exists or I have no access to it.
Is the program still available?
Thanks
Pawel

Hi Pawel,
You should now be able to see the Download section.
There is a lag from the time an account is activated to it being granted download access. The rules for registration/download have been tightening up to keep the Forum spam free, and to serve legitimate users only. I have updated the FAQ entry "How to make the best use of the Forum (http://forum.x3dna.org/faqs/how-to-make-the-best-use-of-the-forum/)" to make the process more transparent.
Best regards,

Same here.
Having read about the lag from the time of activation to being able to download, I waited quite some days now but still cannot view the download section.
It would be great if you could give me access!
Best regards

Hi,
You've been granted access to the Download page.

Hi,
I also encountered the same issue. I have registered a long time ago and used to be able to see the Download page. However, when I tried to download it just now, the page does not show up. Could I be granted the access again?
Thanks,
Xingcheng

Hi Xingcheng,
I have registered a long time ago and used to be able to see the Download page. However, when I tried to download it just now, the page does not show up. Could I be granted the access again?
As noted in the FAQ "How to make the best use of the Forum" (http://forum.x3dna.org/faqs/how-to-make-the-best-use-of-the-forum/), private emails (gmail.com, yahoo.com, qq.com etc.) are no longer accepted on the 3DNA Forum. New registrations using private emails will be simply deleted. While previous such registrations (with posts), as in your case, are still kept, they do not have access to the download page any more.
Re-register on the 3DNA Forum using an identifiable (.edu) email, after activation, you will see the download page. Unactivated registrations will also been removed. I strive to keep this Forum spam-free and clean.
Hope this clarifies the issue.
Best regards,
Xiang-Jun

Thanks, Xiangjun!
I have re-registered using my academic mailbox and now I can see the Download tab.

Hello Xiangjun,
I faced the same issue, could you please grant access for me?
Thanks in advance!

Done.

Hello,
I am also registered, but I do not see the download section.
Thank you
-
Hi,
You should now be able to see the Download section. Note that the current version of DSSR is distributed by the Columbia Technology Ventures (https://inventions.techventures.columbia.edu/technologies/dssr-an-integrated--CU20391) (CTV).
Thanks for your interested in 3DNA/DSSR. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to post them on the Forum.
Best regards,

Hello!
Same here! I have received the e-mail confirming the registration but still don't see the download section.
Could you please give me access to that.
Many Thanks

Hi Luca,
You should now have access to the Downloads section. To prevent spam, we manually monitor and verify all new registrations. This is a one-time process; now that you are verified, you can download the 3DNA software and post questions here in the forum.
Best regards,
Xiang-Jun

Hi Changdong,
Thanks for your interest in 3DNA/DSSR. Your question has been addressed in another thread: License requested (http://forum.x3dna.org/index.php?topic=1052.msg3819).
Please don’t hesitate to ask questions on the forum, but kindly avoid posting the same query in multiple threads to keep the discussion organized.
Best regards,

Hi Xiang-Jun,
Thanks for your reply. Understood — I’ll follow up there and avoid duplicate posts.
I also wanted to note that I’m still unable to download DSSR v2.8.1-2026mar12, even though I submitted an academic account request for a free seat.
Best regards,
Changdong

Hi Changdong,
Thank you for the follow-up.
I would like to clarify that the licensing for DSSR is managed by Columbia Technology Ventures (CTVs). While DSSR has a large global community with hundreds of academic users, licenses are generally not issued to institutions in certain countries due to institutional compliance and administrative policies. Unfortunately, this means that even if an academic request is submitted, it may be restricted based on the location of the host institution.
However, you can still access DSSR through the following options:
- DSSR v1.9.10-2020apr23: This version is available for download directly from the 3DNA Forum. It corresponds to the paper "DSSR-enabled innovative schematics of 3D nucleic acid structures with PyMOL" (2020) published in Nucleic Acids Research.
- wDSSR: You can use the recently released web interface for DSSR at https://web.x3dna-dssr.org/.
I appreciate your interest in the software and your understanding of these constraints.
Best regards,
Xiang-Jun
